John Burrows and Laura Casullo led this complex conversion of a Grade 2* Listed Building, turning it into a flamboyant 50,000 sq ft casino. Working closely with English Heritage and the Conservation Department of Manchester City Council, we gained full planning approval for this contentious refurbishment.
Within the traditional industrial brickwork and steel structure, Manchester 235 is an eye-catching mixture of modern and cool interiors complemented by a dramatic lighting set. The facility boasts restaurants, bars, casino, electronic gaming and poker rooms. The split-level casino is overlooked by the very popular VIP lounge and its private dining room. The fit-out contractors were WFC Contractors Ltd.
Developed by Capital & Regional and operated by Caesars Entertainment, the casino opened in September 2006 and offers 22 gaming tables, 18 slot machines and 37 Electronic Roulette machines and an exclusive Poker Lounge.
