In 2010, John Burrows led a team in an open competition to design a new mixed-use development on the Alexandria Desert Road in Cairo. The design entry was placed joint second and we were later appointed to advise on the retail strategy and shopping centre component.
The development included a regional shopping centre, luxury hotels and international convention centre, Cat-A Headquarter office buildings, motor car showrooms and lush landscaping.
Unfortunately for the development, the Arab Spring Revolution overtook events and the project is yet to be released.
